What’s Your Story (Part 2 in a Series of Yet-to-be-Determined Length)

By Caroline Melberg In part one of this series, we talked about marketing being all about telling stories. As a marketer, I tell my clients stories to their customers. And yes, I do it because I enjoy it but I also do it (as does every other marketer) because consumers demand it. So, if marketing = story telling, does that mean that all storytellers are marketers? Yes, it does. It doesnt matter whether you are in a marketing position or not the fact is, if you have an idea you want to spread or a story to tell, youre a marketer. It sounds like it should be pretty easy, then tell stories, people buy your stuff what could be easier, right? Unfortunately, its a little more complicated than that. The challenge starts with peoples perceptions and belief systems. Thats why 2 people can look at the exact same thing and have completely opposite opinions about it. An obvious example of this phenomenon can be seen in any parking lot in America. If cars were really all about getting from point A to point B, we wouldnt need more than a couple different models to choose from. But car manufacturers tell a story some cars are practical while some are environmentally friendly. Some are utilitarian while others offer speed or luxury. And the person who claims she needs a car for transportation to and from work but wouldnt be caught dead in one type of vehicle or another has simply believed the story that auto marketers have told her the type of car she selects will align with her perceptions and beliefs about the world. Perception, as they say, is reality. Its why all products dont appeal to everyone. Take diets, for instance. Many people want the exact same thing to lose weight, get in shape and feel fit and healthy. Yet if everyones perceptions were identical, there would be no need for 90% of the hundreds of diet bestsellers on the bookshelves. The diet someone chooses or the car they drive or anything they purchase fits with their perception how they see the world. If you want to attract bees put out the honey! As a marketer, one of my most important goals when Im working with a client to develop their marketing plan is to help my client determine who their best customer is, and how we can best market to those customers. As weve seen not every story will resonate with everyone. The trick in telling authentic stories is to frame your story so that it hits home with your specific customer group the customer whose way of seeing the world aligns best with the story you have to tell. Find those customers, tell your story using language that reinforces the way they see the world and watch your sales grow! My Week as an Army Cook

By John T Jones, Ph.D. Before the Korean War I was a member of the Utah National Guard. During the summer we always spent two weeks at beautiful Camp Williams just south of the Utah State Prison. I was in an artillery observation battalion. I was in the Sound Ranging Platoon. We could locate the position an artillery shell was fired from by recording the sound as it hit individually six microphones laid out on a surveyed two-mile baseline. A machine called the GR-8 recorded the time the sound arrived at each microphone as soon as the forward observer push an activation button that said he had heard a sound and it was on its way to the microphones. A plotting table allowed us to record the time differential between microphones. Corrections were added to the speed of sound of 369.2 yards per second according to temperature and humidity. The enemy gun was then located and fire could be directed to the enemy position. We never fired on enemy positions at Camp Williams because the enemy was our own artillery. Sound Ranging was used in World War II. There were only two Observation Battalions in the United States. One was in Europe supporting NATO and the other was the First Observation Battalion at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. This unit trained us at Camp Williams. Later we were called up during the Korean War and replaced the First Observation Battalion at Fort Sill, training new recruits in the art of sound ranging, flash ranging, weather, survey, and RADAR. The First Ob was sent to Korea. (I was to join them there, but at Camp Drake in Japan, they didnt know what a Sound Chief or a Survey Chief was and I ended up in the Infantry.) Be that as it may, I decided that cooks got lots of time off (that is why they are always in the stockade) and I wanted to try it. I had made sergeant because of my ability to somewhat understand sound ranging but I decided to try cooking. I went to Camp Williams a week early and spent my time in the kitchen with the fine regular army cooks of the First Observation Battalion. Things went well during the week. We learned a lot and didnt have to think too much about it. But as the week went on I longed to get back into sound ranging. Finally on Friday, we got the shocking news that the regular army cooks were going into town and that we would be cooking lunch on Saturday. Saturday morning we learned that we would not be using the cooking facilities in the kitchen. We would be using camp stoves. These bruits are known for their orneryness. It took us forever to get them lit and burning. The menu was macaroni and cheese and fried liver, a culinary delight. Things didnt go well and a line of regulars were standing outside the mess hall waiting to be fed. We finally got the macaroni cooked. We immediately dropped it onto the kitchen floor when we tried to drain it. The would-be cooks moaned about what to do. I was only a teenager but I could make decisions. I said, Get it back into the pot. We dont have anything else to feed those guys. The regular army troops that had decided to stay at beautiful Camp Williams patiently ate there floor-drained macaroni and cheese and ate their liver. Well, at least some ate the liver. We were standing there wondering how they could eat such crap without complaining when in came the base general. Heres how our conservation went: General: Sergeant, Can you feed me? Me: You dont want to eat this crap, General. The cooks are in town. General: Well, the men are eating it. I would appreciate being fed. I brought the general his delicious meal and watched him eat it. General: That was very good, Sergeant. Me: You are very kind, General. Do you know what Im going to do tomorrow morning as soon as my unit moves in here for their two week camping experience? General: What, Sergeant? Me: Im going back to Sound Ranging! I wasnt the only would-be cook that went back. The End John T. Embroidery Basting Frames Use for Stabilizing Designs

By Sandy Carter Using a basting frame around designs can do a great deal to help prevent fabric puckers around a design, aid in positioning multiple or split designs and it’s the best way to trap the fabric and stabilizer at the start! You will need editing software for this, but for best results, resize the frames to fit as close to the design as possible. It’s also possible to use a basting frame even if you don?t have embroidery software to combine the frame with a design. Just open the frame in your machine & stitch it; open the design and stitch it. You will find basting frames that are ready for you to use by going to the Basic Embroidery tutorial page on our web site. I have provided these frames for use instead of hoops or to help secure larger, full filled designs. There are 3 sizes; 4×4, 5×7 & 6×10. If your machine has other sizes simply open the basting frame file and resize it, then Center the frame & save under a new file name [the size you changed it to]. Download, find your format & enjoy! If you have embroidery software and only want to use the frames for making sure the design you’re creating stays within your actual embroidery field size; Open the basting frame first; if combining in software. Import or open the artwork for your design; add to open basting frame in software. In your software, move the frame until it’s has about the same margin all around if needed. Start digitizing using the 2nd color on your program?s Color Bar. Your design will stitch the frame first if you leave it, however you can simply edit past the first color when you’re at the machine. If you want to stitch the frame for design security & less fabric “pull”, the stitches are easily removed when the design is finished by clipping the bobbin stitches about every 1.5 inches. The top thread will then pull off very easily. If you would like to create your own basting frames: Choose the single line stitch tool in your digitizing program. Holding the Ctrl key down, start at the top left corner of the design area & place the 1st stitch point; move to the right corner & place the 2nd stitch point, lower right for the 3rd stitch point, lower left for the 4th stitch point and back to the top left for the last stitch point. Go to properties; set stitch length for 4.50 to 5.0 mm; lock stitches if you have this feature. Resize the frame to the desired measurements; remember to make this frame slightly smaller than the maximum size of your embroidery sewing field! Save the frame file by naming the file as the size of the frame & the brand machine it’s for. Sandy Carter is the author of embroidery articles at embroidery designs by Thread Artist. She has an article about embroidery software for digitizing and lettering fonts at embroidery software. When Your Old Friends Meet Your New Relationship

By Tonja Weimer Have you introduced your old friends to your new romantic relationship? Do you think they are going to be happy to meet each other? Sometimes, we may find it surprising and even disappointing when our old friends do not warm to our new love. Understanding and implementing boundaries can be essential to your happiness, as well as your potential partnership. A strange thing happens when you bring old friends and your new romantic partner together. You discover that even though your friends and family want the best for you, some of them may have a hard time adjusting. When they realize that they are about to be replaced as the special confidant or advisor to your single life, they may experience a tidal wave of panic. If your friends are in happy, loving relationships, they will be thrilled that the two of you have found each other. However, if they have been enjoying your company as a distraction to their empty lives; if they have been playing host to you, with all the answers to your struggles; if they have been the shoulder for you to lean on, chances are, they are going to be upset when you fall in love and move to a different place emotionally. Unfortunately, they may be invested in your staying single more than they understand. Habits and ways we have grown accustomed to are harder to let go of than we realize. I think about how the electricity went off in our house the other day and even though I knew that, every time I walked into a darkened room, I tried to switch on the lights. Obviously, my former habits are deeply programmed into me. From these small every-day experiences, I can understand how hard it is for someone to change or let go of the usual, when they are strongly attached to things being the way they used to be. Life-changing events will occur whether we want them to or not, and understanding how to handle yourself through them can save pain and anguish. Since change is inevitable, there are some friendships that will metamorphose into something different, and others that will discontinue. Most relationships among family and friends are resilient, and can allow someone new into your life. Further, if you have a history of poor relationships in the past, it is understandable that some friends may be suspicious of your new choice in the beginning. They need time to get to know this new person. Everyone has one or two trusted friends that they can count on to tell them the truth about what they see. However, some relationships are fragile, built on unconscious and hidden agendas of the other parties, and are not meant to endure. One of the ways to navigate those shifts and changes is to understand boundaries and how to set them. With boundaries in place, you can let people in or you can encircle yourself and come out when its safe. Here are some thoughts on boundaries that may help you when you are introducing a new romantic interest to your old friends: * Boundaries protect our health, well being, and happiness from the damaging behavior of others. They are the limitations we set that let people know how close they can come. They are also there to keep us from reaching out to people who have shown that they cant be a friendfor whatever reason. * Saying no can be difficult when we think it means giving up someones approval. Most of us are afraid of being rejected or not being liked. What is important to understand is that whenever we dont set boundaries, we are open to being taken advantage of, and therefore, not respected. * Set tighter boundaries and say goodbye to people, activities, and habits that drain energy. If you feel tired, upset, or troubled, time after time, when you have been in certain situations, chances are, it is time to let go. As you develop your awareness for what is truly good for you, perhaps you will know when to say no to a long list of demands you have been tolerating. We cling to our habits and our ways and our existing relationships out of a sense of familiarity or misguided loyalty. Sometimes, the people in our lives (for reasons they dont even understand) would rather see us stay the same and be miserable rather than change and ultimately be happy. So get your boundaries in place. Its important to remember that there is always a possible collision course—when your old friends meet your new love. Finding Effective ADHD Treatments

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Morgan_Hamilton] Morgan Hamilton Finding ADHD treatments is crucial to both the child who has it and his family. That is of the utmost importance to any parent of a child with attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder. Generally there are two options that families can choose from, and after consulting a doctor they can decide which of the approaches will in their situation better deal with the disorder. Because of their impulsive and aggressive behavior children with ADHD are often hard to deal with. They can suddenly and without any warning or obvious reason engage in extreme and unexpected behavioral models, and due to that reason parents are searching for ADHD treatments that can help them deal with difficult behavior. Identifying and dealing with feelings of the type than can cause aggressive or impulsive reactions can be effectively done with the help of psychotherapy. Finding it difficult to understand many of the social situations a large sector of children with ADHD cannot follow general social rules. People who have this disorder should be thought the social interaction rules and ADHD treatments should involve such activities. If any treatment can actually make a child stay concentrated long enough to acquire, little by little, and step by step, the proper social skills, this will help enormously in solving the problem. Children with the disorder should be deliberately thought such basic communication skills as waiting for the other person to finish before the child starts speaking and to establish eye contact for example. Those children have to somehow understand that all actions bring consequences. In case a kid speaks out of turn there should be a kind of sanction for him, so that to ensure such interruptions wont be repeated. This is part of an effective ADHD treatment. In some cases the disorder goes a bit further and those children are not capable of understanding the idea of present, future and past. Thats why they do live only in the here and now and dont seem to remember the past. They also are incapable of thinking about the future. Due to this they do never think about the consequences that might follow their actions. In such cases cause and effect should be deliberately communicated. A very successful intervention that can be used by families in collaboration with professionals is the so called behavior therapy. Such a treatment helps children having the disorder to develop a structure and a routine for their behavior. Behavior interventions also help the development of social skills and especially for understanding the cause and effect concept and connect it with their own actions. It is extremely important to adjust treatments so that they can work with and not against the child. A good example for this is a girl I worked with. She had great difficulty sitting still, especially when having to complete an assignment. Most of time, the ADHD treatment was concentrated on getting her to stand still. Eventually we found that getting her to sit still is not a success at all because she wasnt able to concentrate on any thing else while trying to sit still. On the contrary, we allowed her to move around she completed all tasks and assignments relatively easier. Dont forget that whichever ADHD treatment you choose for children with ADHD, you must treat each and every one of them as unique individuals with their own needs. Thats the first and the most important step to a successful treatment. Morgan Hamilton offers expert advice and great tips regarding all aspects concerning health research. Identifying, Creating and Using Your USP?

By Robin Henry What’s your USP? Don’t know, or worse still, you’ve never heard of it. USP is an acronym for Unique Selling Proposition. It’s vital for every business to identify its inherent USP or if it can’t identify it, to create it. If yours is a firm that sells gold coated widgets and there are NO other firms selling the same product, then you need not worry about your USP – you have one by default. The default being that you have a market monopoly. Provided the product is in demand, you can charge just about any price you like and you have no worries with competition. Your product is unique – that’s your USP. But say your business is installing airconditioners and there are six other firms doing the same thing in your region. What’s your USP? This is where it gets difficult. You don’t have an inherent USP, so you need to create it. If the other firms provide the same range of airconditioners and prices are reasonably comparative, then you need to do one or more of the following: .Reduce or increase your prices .Provide better service .Add value to your products or service Reducing your price is usually unacceptable as is increasing your price, although with the latter, you may decide to specialise in a higher cost product and look for a niche market with larger amounts of disposable income eg, Baby Boomers. Alternatively, you may decide to focus on commercial airconditioning installation. While it’s not always easy to juggle prices and product range – after all, there are only so many different brands of airconditioner – providing better service and adding value to your products or services presents numerous opportunities. Let’s consider a few. Here’s an example of an experience I had where a firm added value to it’s product. Although it happened many years ago, it is still relevant. My wife and I had our first child and realised within days that our old twin tub washing machine wouldn’t be much use washing dozens of nappies (diapers) every week, so we invested in a Hoover automatic top loading machine. When it was delivered, the delivery man unpacked it, set it up in our laundry and then gave us a demonstration on how to work it. We were astonished. We had expected it would have just been dropped off and it would be up to us to unpack, set it up and work out how to use it. That was the best service we had ever received – anywhere! And it got better. About a week later the firm telephoned us to make sure everything was working just fine and assured us that if we had any questions, problems etc, we could contact them at any time. We were again astonished. I wrote to the manager and told him/her how pleased we were with our purchase and associated service. Sadly, in the ensuing 28 years we have had few other similar experiences. If you sell goods or services and you want to stand out against your competitors and increase your profit, identify or create your USP and make it central to your organisational ethos. Your USP need not be expensive, elaborate or resource intensive. The idea is to find a USP that is very low cost, but has high customer acceptance. What do you want as a customer? Do you want to be treated politely; as though your custom is really valued? Do you want a free pen? Would you like the sales people to keep in touch? Whatever you want, your customers want the same. Find what you can do to make your customer service special, add value, or both in some small way. Then integrate it into your everyday operations and you’re on your way. If you choose a USP that includes keeping in touch eg, sending a reminder that a car is due for service, a dog due for immunisation, it will help you generate ongoing business and loyalty. Don’t forget that you will also need to update, change or refocus your USP. After a while it will become so common that people won’t see it as being special … the reason they deal with you. Hopefully, by then they will be so accustomed to doing business with you, they will stay for good. Now, once again, ‘What’s your USP?’ Good luck with your business. Weight Loss: The All Natural Way Without Gimmicks

By Foras Aje If you type up Weight Loss in a keyword tracker tool or in a search engine like Google, you will be alarmed to see how many searches in a day are being done on this subject alone. Take submit express.com for example, put weight loss in their word tracking device; you will see that on a daily basis, more than 5000 searches are being done on how to lose weight. However, this shouldnt be alarming, I mean the average person does have the desire to be liked, sought after, and popular. This might explain why we are so captivated with celebrities and perhaps why we at times blindly follow whatever fad or trend they might propagate in the quest to lose weight and be slimmer, sometimes at the cost of our own health. An observation of Nature will show that no animal free of captivity is upholstered with excess weight and are oft times very fit, agile and sharp. This is because unlike man, all animals adhere to the simple laws of nature to maintain health which include eating the right foods for your type and getting adequate exercise. Well these are the basic laws, others might include getting sufficient rest, getting sunshine, interacting with others. There are so many myths and fads that promise to aid you in losing weight that when they are intelligently dissected will make you wonder what ever made you think to give them a shot, which is part of the reasons why I am writing this to inform you that as the slogan of my site on drugless healing says: if one way is true, it is the way of nature. Moreover, Nature bows at no alter, seeks neither praise nor applause, she only asks for a hearing, my friends. For weight loss, your best bet will be to embrace the three limbs of Naturopathy: -Proper Exercise -Proper Diet -Positive Thinking. Now I will explain each one in brief detail: PROPER EXERCISE: Now, there was a time, like almost everyone, that I assumed big and inflated muscles meant fitness and health. Wrong. Maybe it might depict strength-to a degree and that, for only a while, but you ask anybody about one of the greatest martial artists of all time, Bruce Lee, here was a guy who was said to do a thousand (1000) push-ups and other feats of strength and any picture of him shows he was not a blown up mass of muscle waiting to atrophy and deflate as is the case with most fitness experts and body-builders using artificial supplements, I mean look at the agedness depicted across their faces most of the time. This leads one to conclude that for exercise, basic Aerobic-with oxygen-exercises (such as walking, jogging, and dancing) and Anaerobic-without oxygen-exercises (such as push ups, pull-ups, dips, using the ab-wheel and weight lifting for body builders) can be sufficient without the use of synthetic products. For those who want an exercise for the mind as well as the body, Yoga definitely is unmatched. From my experience, if you were to do the Sun Salutations (hailed in Yoga, Martial Arts and African Wrestling as the best exercise for humans) which have been passed down from centuries with a proper and sensible diet, which I will be explaining soon, you are well on your way to weight loss and strength. Some Indians perform about a 100 plus rounds of this marvelous exercise on a daily basis and have immense fitness, strength, agility and virility. Add some other poses like the inversions (Shoulder-Stand), Forward Bends (Head to Knee Pose), Backward bends, Balancing Poses (arguably the best exercises to tone the arms, abdomen and restore a sense of balance and self confidence in humans who practice them) and you are bound to see the immense results. Speaking of emulating celebrities, well did you know Sting, Madonna, Russell Simmons, Beyonce and Prince all practice some form of Yoga and need I mention how fit and good they look? I could go on and on about Abdominal exercises and Breathing Exercises of the Yoga genre (which in the case of the latter is also EXTREMELY effective for weight loss) but that will be another subject in itself, the bottom line is: in my opinion, exercises that use the bodys weight for resistance such as Yoga, Calisthenics and Pilates are arguably the best for the human body. Have you ever seen a chimpanzee lifting rocks repeatedly? Yet that distant cousin of humans can rip a door off a car and is easily 8 times stronger than an average modern day human. Still, if we share about 98% DNA with this primate (as well as other apes), its evidence to make one wonder how much healthier and fit we would be by adhering and living as close as possible to Natures laws of diet and exercise. PROPER DIET -You are what you eat (Anonymous) -Let your foods be your medicine and your medicine your food (Hippocrates, the father of medicine) -Every herb bearing seed and every tree bearing fruit with seed in it shall be yours for food (Gen 1:29) From these radical quotes above, it should be plain to see that most modern day meals and mixtures are totally against Natures intent for us as humans for fitness, agility and strength. It will be safe to say that if you want to lose weight, re-read these three quotes and the proper diet will stare you right in the face: Fruits and Vegetables. Admittedly, and you can take this from a guy who was a raw vegan for several months, (Now, I mostly fast and eat mono meals of fruit and raw or cooked vegetables every other day) that might be kind of hard to accomplish or adhere to. Well, if you approach it the wrong way, being radical in nature and as with all things that dont have a strong foundation, you may be bound to fail. The good news is there are several books on the subject of this kind of a diet and though adequately addressed in the core e-book of my site, you can type up Vegan Diets, Raw Vegan Diets, Vegetarianism in any search engine to be educated-to a degree- on the subject. I have experimented with each of the three kinds of diets and have been on the Standard American diet and am now of the firm belief that the first two and maybe the third if done sensibly and wisely are the best for humans, period! I touched on the subjects of internal cleanliness and non-animal product diets in my article available in my blog and some article directories under the title Is a Low-Carb, High Protein diet the best for weight loss? but I will briefly state again that based on the quotes above, and the facts that this diet has been proven countless times to be the best (Ask Bill Pearlman-four times Mr. Universe winner!), without the need for much of an argument, a diet free of animal products is simply the best for humans. For an idea of a daily menu, you can look for my article How to Cure Acne in 10 days in some of the major article directories online, last time Google did its spider crawl, it came up in most of them but I also put in my blog for my readers just in case. Ill leave you with this factor to consider though on the subject of proper diet, based on the anthropological approach of several authors of Naturopathy, and from simple observations, we as primates, just like our distant cousins, the great apes, are frugivores, eaters of mainly fruits and green leaves and it cannot be a co-incidence that these substances make up the mucus-less or alkaline forming foods that even science has proven to be the best for human life and of course, weight loss. POSITIVE THINKING: Some quotes from perhaps the most rugged book ever put together, that being the Bible, bring to mind just how important it is to think positively-and wisely so-in any endeavor one is undertaking. As a man thinks in his heart; so is he and Guard your heart for it is the wellspring of life. That stated, what you constantly think over and over is eventually what comes to pass. The mind has such powers that are beyond human comprehension at times, but according to the author of the Power of Positive Thinking, Dr. Norman Vincent Peale, You are what you are now based on your thoughts five years ago and will be in five years what you constantly think of yourself now. Although ones thoughts are very important, without taking the steps to act on them (of course when they are constructive and positive) they do end up being a waste, but your reading this article does depict a desire to want to improve yourself be it through weight loss or any other factor. Like with any journey in life, of course, you will have times when you may want to give up, lose faith or focus and consequently get off the path to success, which may explain why most people fail at diets and fads in the quest of losing weight, well, my friend, you will have to literally tune your thinking to be positive so as to overcome the doubts and fears as you go about accomplishing your goals. It honestly will be easier applying the two other limbs of drugless healing above for weight loss as they do go hand-in-hand. In conclusion, forget the fads and hypes. For a healing program to be successful at anything, especially weight loss, it must cover the three limbs of health: diet, exercise and positive thinking. It is my hope that this article will show you how to choose the best methods of attaining not only weight loss, but fitness and health on the inside and out. Wording Of Your Wedding Invitations

By Victor Epand When it comes to your wedding invitations you will always want them to look there best no matter, but there are just some things that you will need help on. The only things I would recommend changing are as follows: removing the comma after Street in the reception location address, and moving “Saint Paul, Minnesota” down to the next line. In terms of the “together with their parents” line, placement depends upon who the hosts of the reception are; generally (and this is regardless of financial contribution), the hosts of the party are the parents of the bride, or the parents of the couple. The hosts always receive top billing on the invitation, as they are the people technically issuing the invitation. For that reason, I generally advise that “Together with their parents” appears at the top of reception-only invitations. When writing the invitations, just mention the ceremony. Make no mention of a reception and most people will understand that they are just being invited to a ceremony. I would have a friend — best man, maid of honor, somebody send out a separate card that is more casual that includes the other information. Gift information is not appropriate in any way coming from the two of you — and the Dutch info might more efficiently be expressed by someone writing on your behalf. That way you guys can focus on sending out an invite with standard wording and not have to worry about the other details. By all means send them an invitation too. As a matter of fact I was asked a question by a guest that received a save the date card and did not receive an invitation when they thought they should have. A save the date card is just saying get ready and plan for it. The invitation is telling them to come. The best way to make your wishes known is via word of mouth. For the invitations, do not put any information about the reception at all. Instead tell your bridal party and family what you wish to do and have them pass the word along to guests. While they’re telling the guests about the Dutch dinner afterward (don’t call it a reception at all or guests will think that you are paying), they can also inform the guest (but only if the guest asks) that you would prefer to have gift cards as you are moving. Keep in mind that some people will still insist on giving a physical gift. Perhaps make arrangements to have your family in the states send a shipment to you after you are settled. There is a widely-held assumption that if a person’s parents are listed by name on the invitation, it has something to do with finances. In terms of etiquette, this is a common misconception which often does nothing but create a source of anxiety for brides, grooms and their families. Traditional invitation etiquette demands that there is *no indication* of who is paying for what in the wording of the invitation. In fact, the reason that only the bride’s parents appear on traditional Christian invitations has to do with the idea that the bride’s family is “giving her away,” with their blessings, into marriage to the groom. The groom is assumed to be a man with the means to care for their daughter, without his family’s assistance. In Jewish tradition, both parents are mentioned, which implies that both families are supportive of the impending marriage in spirit, rather than financially. In your situation, I would suggest choosing the wording that you and the groom-to-be feel best represents your wedding: very formal and traditional, casual and contemporary, or somewhere in between and simply goes with that.
